matchbook mondays

Departing from my personal collection for a week to share a blog that I recently stumbled upon – The Matchbook Registry. Curated by Daniel Blackman, the blog features matchbooks collected by Daniel, his grandfather, and his mother.

The Matchbook Registry is a blog run by Daniel Blackman, a graphic designer in Philadelphia. The idea of the blog is to showcase matchbook design and typography. The majority of the matchbooks on the site were collected by Daniel Blackman, his grandfather and his mother.

Solid work on Daniel’s personal site as well.

added to rss: so much pileup

Just found SO MUCH PILEUP, a killer blog full of design inspiration from the 1960’s – 1980’s. It’s run by Mike Davis of Burlesque Design so you know there’s good stuff in there.

BONUS FEATURE: he even has a weekly post with an alliterative title!

Picked up this book the other day at a used shop in Cambridge, hundreds of one and two-color logos – good stuff.

New Zealand based blog Preserve is dedicated to hand-painted signage that is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. They have a new set of images up today – love those huge Bodoni numbers.
